The English-speaking community is spread across West Quebec (or the Outaouais).

According to recent reviews in the Outaouais, there are more than 55,235 English-speakers (i.e. those who indicated they speak English most often at home) representing more than 16% of the total population. This number breaks down as follows in each of the municipalities in the region by absolute number and percentage of the total population of that municipality : 

  • City of Gatineau: 30,225 (13%)
  • Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais: 11,545 (28%)
  • La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau: 3,180 (16%)
  • Pontiac: 9,355 (65%)
  • Papineau: 930 (4%)
